2009-2010 Boy's High School All-America Basketball Team

 

FIRST TEAM (ALL SENIORS)

 

F – JEREMIAH KREISBERG – Head Royce School (26-5) – 6:9 from Berkeley, CA

F – MICHAEL ATWATER – Foothill H.S. (29-3) – 6:6 1/2 from Tustin, CA

W – DANNY RUBIN – The London School (19-6) – 6:6 from Bethesda, MD

G – MARK FRIEDMAN – Westlake H.S. (18-11) – 6:3 (pg) from Westlake Village, CA

G – JOSH ELBAUM – Northfield Mount Hermon School (23-8) – 6:4 from Wheatley Heights, NY

JEREMIAH KREISBERG led head Royce with 18.5 ppg while scaling for 8.5 rpg and giving it up for 2.1 rpg. He was named S.F. Gate All-East bay and Player of the Year in the BCL-East. Jeremiah will play D-I college basketball at Yale of the Ivy League. 

MICHAEL ATWATER transferred from the IMG basketball Academy (FL) to Foothill where he tallied 10.1 ppg and was named All-Seaview League, 2nd-team, and All-CIF, Southern Section, Div. 3-AA, 1st-team. He has accepted an academic scholarship to (D-I) Arizona State where he will be a preferred walk-on.

DANNY RUBIN fired from all angles netting 18 ppg including 52 treys. He as named All-Interstate Athletic  Conference, 1st-team (unanimous) , and Montgomery Gazette, All-Montgomery County, 2nd-team. Danny will play D-I college basketball with Boston College of the ACC. Steve Donahue, BC’s new coach brought over after his successful run at Cornell, wanted Danny for his “spread ‘em out offense” and, as a result, Danny dropped his plans to attend Colgate.

MARK FRIEDMAN directed the offense for a fine Westlake quintet while scoring 8.5 ppg, scaling for 6.3 rpg, feeding for 3.0 apg and timing his jump for 1.5 bpg. He was named All-Marmonte League, 1st-team, and to the Battle of the Valley All-Star Game. He will play D-I college hoops at Cal Poly (SLO) of te Big West.

After JOSH ELBAUM graduated from St. John the Baptist H.S., he opted to take a prep year at Northfield to polish his ball handling skills and improve his chances to play D-I hoops. It paid off as he scored 5.4 ppg, took down 3.1 rpg, distributed 4.0 apg and took off with 3.6 spg. Josh will play D-I college basketball at the U of Vermont of America East.
